Me: *Googles how to fall asleep fast instead of putting my phone down and going to bed.*
I do a few things to avoid bed that, if my parents still had to get me to sleep, they would equate it to me acting like a toddler. For instance, I need to plan my whole day before I fall asleep which, according to some other website with unconvincing sources, means I have an anxiety disorder. Didn’t need a click bait article to tell me that.

So here I am writing down my menu for tomorrow down to the toppings and sauces when I should be sleeping.
Do you ever do that?
There was this one time I bought shelves for my room and it was crawling towards midnight. I couldn’t sleep because I was plotting out where to put my shelves. So instead of waiting for the following day, which would’ve been the wise thing to do, I went with the crazy option. I walked around my room lightly knocking on all my walls trying to find studs in my walls. I must’ve looked like a scene out of “The Yellow Wall Paper”.
Another time, as I was dozing off, I noticed that my room wasn’t very tidy. I could’ve left the mess, but up I went, darting around my room for an hour.
Do these things help me sleep? No. Do they make me crazy? Yeah, I’m sure in some medical definition, they do. Do I care? Nah.
Hope you enjoyed this short, sweet confessional.
Do you have similar stories of restlessness and avoiding sleep?
Until next time,
Julia
