Here it is! My year in reverse.
Let’s begin at the end. December. A nice quick month spent with my favorite people. I had myself a merry little Christmas with my Weasley knit sweater and got hugs and kisses from everyone I love. Was a great month.

Hello, November. A month of pits and peaks. I ran my first Turkey Trot on a balmy 14 degree morning with aggravated asthma and lived. Then later that week, sprained my ankle and my knee on ice. Oh, how the universe will balance you out sometimes.

October brought some major adult successes. I went on an absolutely wonderful vacation with my love and his family to Cape Cod, I bought my second car and named her Hedwig while saying goodbye to my wonderful first car which was hard. Lastly, I kicked my ass into gear and committed to my health and got a gym membership for the first time in my life.

September was a lovely month. Visiting Kent to see my sister at heart was so much fun. That month I also discovered the best birth control that has given me zero awful symptoms. After a year of pain and awful symptoms this was a highlight of my year and a weight off my shoulders.

August was a HUGE month for me! I found out I’m getting a niece in February which made my heart burst. I explored the birthplace of the Beatles and watched my dad play where they played. I explored London with my dear friends and family and bawled my eyes out at Harry Potter World. It was an experience that I will remember forever. This month was one of the best months of my whole life. I can’t wait to be an Aunt to a little girl. I can’t believe my dad got to live out his dreams. And yet all those things are true!

July was a great month. I got to meet the talented and sweet Rozzi Crane (“Never Over You” singer). I finally saw an allergist and discovered exactly what I can and cannot eat which I’ve been wanted to do for many years. And I got a killer hair cut which made the summer heat way more bearable.

June was AMAZING. Picture this. My sister who is trying to conceive asks me one morning how I would like to find out when she gets pregnant. I saw I want a FaceTime.
Mere hours later, I’m coaching and my phone rings which is odd. I look at my phone and my sister is FaceTiming me. I grab my mom and answer the phone and learn my sister and brother-in-law are going to be parents! My mom is going to be a grandma! My dad is going to be a grandpa! I’m going to be an aunt!! Cloud nine, I tell you, is a real thing.

May was wonderful and so memorable. Here you see my sweet swimmers giving me a birthday hug. And my grandma a few weeks earlier at her 90th birthday! A hundred Grizanti descendants surrounded us at her birthday and nothing could be cooler. It was a month of love and celebrating life.

April was busy! I went to DC to participate in a march for MS (and do a little sightseeing with my family). I got my first endoscopy of my life and cracked jokes coming in and out of consciousness. My first car broke down in CANADA on a HILL and my boyfriend thankfully threw the car’s emergency brake and saved our butts.
Lastly, I went on a super awesome and exciting road trip with my Soccer Moms to Schenectady and the Howe Caverns and we had the best Mexican food of our life at Mexican Radio. Highly suggest.

I started that month off with a bang when I barfed dye on my feet during an Upper GI. I spend nine painstaking hours painting George Harrison’s Rocky guitar for my dad to play in England. I was much pleased with the results. Also went on a fun and sporadic road trip to Erie, PA to get Chick Fil A, Krispy Kreme, and shop at Charming Charlie.

Skipping to January because evidentially I didn’t do much in February.
I landed my first big girl job! I became the Editor at a marketing company which I continue to do today. And one of the most epic pictures of the year is the first one I took. 2018 started with love and light.

Happy New Year, everyone. I hope 2019 treats you well.
Until next year,
Julia
